Setting up your submissions is the first step in your event's submission management process. Go to Submissions and press "+Add New Submission" to set one up in an existing event. Sections of the submission module can be navigated, expanded and minimised as needed.
General Details
Covers fields relating to submission management (submission and review) processes — these can be revised later, but pay special attention to cutoff ("End") dates for submissions, edits and reviews.
Introduction, Terms & Conditions, Presentation Types, Categories
Enable Introduction, Terms & Conditions and set up introductory text and a question. Presentation Types let submissions be configured by type (Oral, Posters, Full Paper, etc.) with various permissions — create new types via Add Presentation Type or edit the defaults. Categories let you create submission categories that might become conference streams or tracks, or simply organise submissions for review — add via Add Category, including child categories/subcategories via the Parent dropdown.
Title, Authors, Content, Conflict
Enable Title (with word limit and title text), Authors (author text and max presenting authors), Content (submission word limit and submitter text), and Conflict (conflict text for submitters, if any).
Setting up reviews
The Reviews process is set up alongside submissions, via the submission itself or the Edit dropdown, and is an administrator process in three steps.
Step 1 — Review Stages
Currinda supports multiple, flexibly configured review stages. By default it creates an "Initial Review" stage you can rename and amend. Create new stages via "+ Add Review Stage."
Step 2 — Review Criteria
Create review criteria via Reviews → Review Criteria. Two default criteria are included — a score out of ten, and comments — either editable or removable. Criteria questions support Text, Multiple Choice, Dropdown Box, Checkbox List, Yes/No, Numerical Score, or document/video/image upload. Each Review Criteria links to a specific Review Stage.
Step 3 — Reviewers and Convenors
Assigned via Reviews → Reviewers. Both require a Currinda User Profile, locatable via the User search box (administrators can create new profiles for nominees). A Reviewer can only view submissions they've reviewed, not the complete list or other reviewers' reviews. A Convenor (via Reviewers → Convenors) can view the complete list of submissions and all completed reviews. Settings can apply across categories or the entire event, supporting complex, multi-category programs.
Custom Questions
Add custom questions — common examples include demographic questions (e.g. region of work or residence), academic questions (e.g. supervisor name), award eligibility, or poster preference questions. Create new pages via Add Custom Question Page; multiple questions can be added per page, supporting the same answer types as review criteria, and can be linked to society membership, student status, or specific submission category or society.
